Bathroom sinks and vanities are the foundational pieces of furniture in bathrooms. They are necessary for their function but they are also design elements. Usually the sink and vanity are the first things the eyes land on when entering the room. Choosing a well-designed bathroom sink vanity will add value to any bathroom. Bathroom vanity sinks come in almost any color and material. It is easy to see why sinks and vanities have so much to offer bathrooms. White and cream acrylic sinks are the standard sinks that fit any bathroom. To spice things up though, try tangerine orange sink to create a desert effect. Black marble may be just the touch for an elegant manly bathroom.
Bathroom sinks or basins are a major part of our lives. The function is for our own personal hygiene, but after the functionality of your sink will come the design to fit your bathrooms decor. Bathroom sinks come in two distinct types. Then from these two types come many different styles, sizes, shapes and colors. Bathroom vanities are cabinets that will hold your bathroom sink. Bathroom vanities come with one door, two doors, or one or two doors with a row of drawers. The function of the bathroom vanity is to give you storage for your bathroom and keep that storage out of plain sight. The counter top for your bathroom vanity can be a standard counter with a hole for your bathroom sink, or a molded sink type counter top. Counter tops can be made of a lament, granite, marble, Corean, concrete, ceramic tile, or plastic. No matter what style the counter top the sink will hook up to the water and drain the same way. This will be with a mechanical pop-up or drain assembly, and water lines to the faucet.
Self Rimming Sinks fit into a hole that is cut into the counter top. The rim of the sink, along with a little silicone, form a seal between the sink rim and counter top. Self rimming sinks are often used when you want more counter space as you can make the counter as big as you need then cut the hole to drop the sink near the plumbing. Its nice to have a good selection of bathroom sinks because this isnt a one size fits all item. You want to make sure it fits the size of your bathroom first but you also want to make sure it has the look and feel you want to achieve.
Under-Mount Sinks, also known as bottom mount sinks require a mounting kit. As the name suggests are placed underneath the surface of the bathroom counter. This means the edges of the cut for the sink will be visible so they need to be polished or clean because the sink literally sits under the counter below the hole. These bathroom sinks can be very attractive and provide a contemporary look, but they can be more costly. Bathroom Pedestal Sinks have an elegant, clean look. They are basically a basin attached to a single stem stand with a look that flows together. Unlike some bathroom sinks the basin and stand are a single unit. This style of sink doesnt provide any storage space below.
